Why does my car use sooo much fuel?

Fuel consumption getting worse? It’s so aggravating!
The cost of living is rising so fast these days. What with electricity, water and food going through the roof, we don’ t need petrol costing us a king’s ransom. We need our car for many, many things and at this rate we won’t be able afford petrol.
So, is there anything you can do about it? Yes, there are a number of actions you can take:
-Use the cheapest grade of petrol
-Drive in a fairly gentle manner
-Limit the use of air conditioning
-Change to a more fuel efficient car
-Keep tyre pressures up
-Get the engine tuned every year, including the throttle body
-Have the EGR system and intake manifold cleaned every year
-Have the injectors serviced every second year
-Service the automatic transmission every second year
-Have the wheel bearings re-packed with fresh grease every third year.
-service the vehicle in accordance with the Manufacturer’s manual
-check the cooling system and confirm the engine is reaching optimum temperature
Anyway, have a yarn to your favourite Repairer and get his advice.
